FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS OF JCOH

1.

* How do I go about joining the Jaguar Club of Houston (JCOH)?

There is a membership form on the web site at (LINK).  Fill in the form and mail to the address on the bottom of the form.  Payment may be made by check or Zelle.

* What kind of events does the Jaguar club hold?

The club holds many events during the year.  The list below is just a few examples.

  • Annual Dinner (one of our most well attended events).

  • Bluebonnet drive.  Held in the spring usually around the Brenham area.  We try to time this drive when the Bluebonnets are in full bloom.  We finish the drive with lunch at a local restaurant.

  • English Tea.  Usually in late summer and takes place at a local tea shop where we have tea and a selection of sandwiches.  Ladies tend to wear fancy hats for this event.

  • Annual Concours.  This takes place in late Autumn and is a chance to show off your Jaguar.  In recent years the event has been held either in Sugar Land or Kingwood.  The concours page gives more details.

  • A variety of other events take places in the area.   In the past we have visited Hemi-Hideout, Bush Presidential Library, Gallo car collection, and the Bryan Museum in Galveston

* Are guests allowed to attend events?

Guests are allowed to attend events.

* Are there any events that are “member only “?

Events are generally open to all.

5.

* How much does it cost to join the Jaguar Club?  What is included in my membership? What do the dues go towards?

Beginning January 2024, the cost will be $80.  Of this, $45 goes to the Jaguar Clubs of America (JCNA ourparent organization, see JCNA.com) and this allows you access to their tool loan program and discounts on books, etc., as well as a bi-monthly magazine, the Jaguar Journal.  

The remainder ($35), going to JCOH is used to support events throughout the year. At present, we also support the charity K9s for Warriors and the Coventry Foundation (which among other things provides scholarships for students taking car restoration projects in college).

* What is the Jaguar Club of North America (JCNA)?

The Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA) is dedicated to the wide range of Jaguar motorcars old and new, and the American, Canadian, and Mexican enthusiasts who love them.

 

Incorporated in 1954, JCNA has become the hub of Jaguar enthusiasts from Canada, Mexico, the United States and around the world. As a social organization with a common interest in the Jaguar marque, JCNA strives to provide members with the widest range of services and activities for those with an enthusiasm for all Jaguars, both old and new

* How often does the JCOH meet?

JCOH meets once a month.  Currently, the regular meeting takes place on the second Saturday of each month at Sam Houston Race Park at 11:00am.

* Do I need to own a Jaguar to join the club?

You do not need to own a Jaguar to be a member of the club.  

The club is for all people having an interest in Jaguar cars.   You do not have to drive a Jaguar to any event.

* What is a Concours and how do I go about participating?

Our Concours D’Elegance is an annual show of Jaguar cars where members enter their cars to be judged in several different classes.  The classes are determined by type and year of Jaguar and are also divided into Championship Class (The top and most stringent judging for originality and cleanliness), Driven Class (which allows for imperfections as the car is driven, and Display (where a car is just displayed and not judged).

 

Anyone may enter the event by filling in the entry registration form.
